This breathtaking painting from world-renowned wildlife artist Jonathan Truss. ‘Land of the Giants’ is a striking portrait of two majestic elephants in Kenya’s Amboseli National Park, created in association with the Born Free Foundation.

Dorset-based artist Jonathan Truss took a trip to Kenya with the Born Free Foundation to film the documentary ‘A Brush with Nature’. While there, Jonathan was able to see first-hand some of the foundation’s incredible work to save one of the world’s most highly threatened animals. The documentary follows Jonathan on his thrilling journey to Amboseli National Park, on his quest to find and paint on the largest and most famous elephants in the world!

On Thursday 8th February 2020, the Born Free Foundation held an event in Greenwich University’s Old Royal Navy College to celebrate the release of this piece, and to show a sneak peek of the documentary. Virginia McKenna OBE, Will Travers OBE and other special guests spoke at the event to raise crucial funds for the foundation’s most critical elephant projects in Africa. To support this wonderful cause, a percentage of every ‘Land of the Giants’ piece sold will go directly to Born Free, and towards saving the magnificent elephants still roaming free in Amboseli and Tsavo. A fitting tribute and legacy for Tim, the stunning elephant depicted on the left, who sadly passed away of natural causes during the week of the event.
