"For part of my life as an artist" says Alexander Millar "I collaborated with a company based in the Midlands.   This gave me the opportunity to explore another great British industrial city - Birmingham.

I was amazed at how the network of canals meet up in the heart of the city.   There was a whole other life there behind modern office blocks and below ring road underpasses - and it made me imagine the tales that would be told if these canal banks could talk".
