Wendy Satchwell is a world class abstract artist with original art available and who will also undertake commissions. We thought we would find out a bit more about her Christmas...
PFA: We know you're interested in the power of colour and also interior decor - how will your own home be decorated this Christmas Wendy?
WS: I come from a country background and, to me, Christmas decoration is about bringing nature inside. We always have a real tree and I set off with my big scissors and search for foliage from hedgerows like cones, twigs and so on - my husband calls it my "tea leafing"!
Our tree decorations all have memories as I've collected them throughout my life and, although they're mismatched, they all look beautiful together. I always make a wreath for the front door and dot candles around everywhere. One of my favouorite things in the attic is an old wooden advent calendar which holds individual chocolates and - of course - our family reindeer Prancer and Dancer who stand on the lawn.
PFA: Who would you like to find scrambling down your chimney on Christmas Eve?
WS: With no hesitation "Jude Law of course!"
PFA: If you could jump onto a plane and go anywhere today, where would you go?
WS: I've travelled to some wonderful places but not yet to Santorini in Greece. Oh I'd SO love to stay in a beautiful apartment or hotel and feel the sunshine
PFA: Wendy, what would be your advice to us all for 2021?
WWS: It's been such a difficult year for everyone but - if I had to sum it up - Peace and Harmony will be more important than ever next year. We're all in this Covid world together so let's continue to be kind and thoughtful because we've still got a long way to go.
