The Future is Now

As a schoolboy, comics gave me a glimpse into what the future would be like, and l was confident it would be amazing; Space travel, time travel, robots, nothing was beyond what we could imagine.

And not just in comics; Britain was going to be at the centre of it all - it said so on TV and in the cinema; Bluestreak, hovercrafts, James Bond's laser beams and jet packs - Harold Wilson’s 'white heat of technology'; all was possible and tantalizingly close.But best of all it could be viewed from home with of a pile of well-worn comics and annuals.
